WELLINGTON AT A GLANCE

The Whats On Report team set out to canvas construction around Wellington city last week. We found our nation’s capital to be a hub of activity, witnessing various construction projects in progress especially around the Thorndon area. It was encouraging to see how fabulous recently completed projects were looking, most notably the new office building on Featherston Street. The $14 million Thai Embassy building is also taking shape and we can’t wait to see the finished product. New planning for 2011 is looking promising, with a host of projects reported in January including multi-unit development, city building restoration, preschool and education, industrial, and office and retail fit-outs.
