TONNES OF CHRISTCHURCH TIMBER HEADS TO AUCKLAND

Recovery of native timber from the demolition of earthquake stricken buildings in Christchurch will head to Auckland for sale, and will ultimately be used for construction.  According to Alan Edge, CEO of Southern Demolition and Salvage, the recycled rimu, matai and kauri his company sends to Auckland has significantly risen since the quakes. Sale of salvaged timber in Auckland also benefits Christchurch building owners, as the value of timber helps pay for demolition costs.
