SHORTLIST DRAWN UP FOR CBD DESIGN

Four firms have been shortlisted for the design and plan of Christchurch’s central-city rebuild. CCDU chief executive Warwick Isaacs expects that the contract will be awarded and announced later this week, with the successful firm to start immediately on the city’s ‘blueprints’. The winning bidder will have seventy-eight days remaining of the hundred-day deadline to identify and develop anchor projects, such as the convention centre and town hall, as well as discussing how the rest of the CBD will be developed around key buildings.
