Seismics and the City Diary Date: 22 March - Christchurch

On March 22, a year and a month after the devastating February 2011 quake, a one day knowledge sharing event will be held at the Addington Events Centre.

Seismics and the City is a forum for drawing together learning experiences from organizations in the public and private sector in the wake of the quakes.

The ability to quickly recover from a disaster is a critical factor for success for many organisations.  How can organizations learn from the seismic events of the past 17 months and share what they have learnt with others?

CECC’s Peter Townsend sets the theme of the forum by looking back at the issues of recovery and looking forward to the future of a new and vibrant city. Other speakers include Roger Sutton, CERA: Dr Rod Carr, University of Canterbury; Sam Johnson, the Student Volunteer Army; Jim Boult, Christchurch International Airport; Mary Devine, Ballantynes; Dr Allan Freeth, TelstraClear;  Dr Colin Harrison, IBM U.S. and Peter Davie, Lyttelton Port Company.
