RYMAN SET TO TRANSFORM OLD PETONE COLLEGE SITE

Healthcare and their nationwide retirement village expansion plans. Lower Hutt Mayor Ray Wallace has welcomed the $100 million Ryman development with open arms, and praises plans to improve a site which had become a “total eyesore” for locals.

The development will ultimately be home to several hundred elderly residents, and provide jobs for more than 100 staff. What’s more, during construction, up to 200 tradesmen would be on site at any one time. Ryman Healthcare CEO David Kerr praised the ‘magnificent site’ which overlooks the Hutt River & is surrounded by picturesque reserves including Sladden and Memorial Parks. Residents will enjoy wonderful vistas in every direction, from the Western and Eastern hills of the Hutt, to the Tararuas in the North and across Wellington harbour to the city.

Ryman Healthcare’s latest site is to be developed over 4 or 5 years, and will be a welcome addition to Lower Hutt’s growing retired population. Follow Whats On Report progress on the 3.3 hectare village at J141878.
