Housing NZ has asked tenants to leave 156 properties in Glen Innes, as part of their plans for a large scale state housing redevelopment. This involves the sale of 143 houses, renovations to the left over existing properties and construction of up to 260 new homes (see WOR reference J135475). Part of the Tamaki Transformation Programme, the exciting development is the largest housing renewal programme in New Zealand. Other HNZ projects planned include; Mount Eden/Roskill (J92093), Hutt City (J116031), Avondale (J110183), Onehunga (J102145), Massey (J136538) and Three Kings (J136490). These projects seek to create more housing to cater for future growth in the areas, including more options to own or rent. 78 houses will be owned by HNZ, at least 39 will be owned by other community housing providers, and the remainder will go for private sale.
