The Government is seeking formal expressions of interest from the market for ownership of Auckland’s first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) School, scheduled to be opened in Hobsonville in 2013. Education Minister Anne Tolley believes this will lead to better quality school buildings and a better quality of education as it relieves school officials of having to worry about upgrades and maintenance. While the scheme won’t save the Government much money short-term they expect to see long-term savings from future PPP schools. Whats On Report has been tracking this project since early planning in 2004, see J47775 for further detail. Not a client and need leads on building projects? Contact Us for more information.
