NO ROOM AT THE INN FOR CHRISTCHURCH TOURISTS

Statistics NZ has reported a dramatic decrease in the number of international guests staying in Canterbury hotels during February 2011. The city had a 25 per cent drop in international guest overnight stays compared to the figures from 2010 as a direct result of affected hotels by the  Canterbury earthquake. Approximately 75 per cent of hotel beds in the area are currently not in use and just 10 out of 33 hotels are open for business. Whats On Report has received information on several of these hotels in the last week, including the All Seasons on Cashel St (Ref: J131657), Hotel Ibis (J131658) and the Latimer Hotel (J131609). We will be following the progression of their repair works in the coming months. Not a client? Contact Us for more information.
