NEW PLYMOUTH POLICE STATION MAKEOVER

The 49-year-old New Plymouth police station is set to be demolished to make way for a brand new $12 million home for the city’s law enforcement officers. According to Police Minister Judith Collins the current station will be pulled down in December, and a new 2350-square-metre station would be erected on the site, with completion in early 2013. A lack of space in the current building has resulted in police being housed in three different areas, although by 2013 all will be under the same roof. Full information can be viewed on WOR J122184.
