NEW NATIONAL CYCLING CENTRE ALL BUT UNDERWAY

The Home of Cycling is going through the final stages of fundraising for the proposed $28.5 million new world-standard cycling centre now expected to be underway by the end of this month. The major sponsor, Sheppard Cycles, was confirmed last week with both the Government and the Waikato Regional Council also making large contributions. To be known as the Avantidrome, the centre will include a world-class 250 meter category one track, approximately 2000 sq m of space for specialized performances, a café as well as facilities for mountain biking, BMX and road and trail cycling. The Home of Cycling hopes to have the centre open and fully operational by late 2013. Follow it with the Whats On at J130480.
