NEW AUCKLAND WATERFRONT THEATRE CLOSER TO REALITY

Plans for a new 660-seat $35 million theatre project for the Auckland waterfront were furthered this week with the Auckland Theatre Company announcing a $5 million ASB Community Trust contribution to the project. The company already has pledges of $16 million, making a total of nearly $22 million. The building would be built in the Wynard Quarter and become a new landmark for the city – a state-of-the-art cultural attraction. There will be a cafe, bar and lounge, and restaurant on the ground floor, and ample car parking, as well as the theatre itself. For further details refer to the Whats On listing, J122055.
