NELSON WORKS POSTPONED FOR VITAL REPAIRS

Nelson City Council is postponing $4million worth of capital works to make repairs to infrastructure damaged in the December 2011 floods. The current priorities are pipe and drain blockages, with road sealing unlikely to happen this financial year. Chief Executive Keith Marshall said it was crucial to get the recovery work well underway and praised the hard work of local contractors. The capital works list will be assessed during the preparation of the council’s 2012-22 Long-term plan.
