MASSEY SHOUTS FROM THE ROOFTOP
Construction of Wellington’s Massey University Creative Centre has passed the halfway mark and now boasts a roof. The $20 million dollar project has adopted modern building technologies including world-class earthquake safety provisions that will set a precedent for future building projects of its magnitude. Structural engineers Dunning Thornton have developed the upper two levels of the five-storey building out of timber that has gone through a strengthening process known as ‘post-tensioning’. This will allow occupants to re-enter the building almost immediately after such an occurrence. Find project details at WOR J103776.
