LYTTELTON REBUILD THE TALK OF THE TOWN

Lyttelton residents are sharing their rebuild ideas with the Christchurch City Council this month, following the release of the quake-hit town’s Draft Master Plan in July 2011. Many of Lyttelton’s buildings have fallen to the wrecking ball since the February 2011 earthquake, including the 124-year-old Lyttelton Borough Chambers. Numerous property owners are determined to repair and rebuild their town, such as the NZ Police. Their historic police station, which is the oldest working one in the country, is currently red-stickered and awaits a final decision in early 2012. Follow WOR listing J127741 for further updates.
