HEIGHT A HUGE FACTOR FOR LAMBTON QUAY TOWER

The proposed $130 million Kate Sheppard Exchange Tower would partly cover Lambton Quay’s bus interchange and stretch way above the 34.5 metre allowable height limit of new buildings in the area. The 64m commercial building will provide 26,000 square metres of office space, a handful of shops, a convenience store, café, wine bar and 40 on-site car parks. However height issues have triggered a notified resource consent application, giving the public an opportunity to have a say. Developer Tony Gapes of Redwood Group believed consent would be granted by the council. First reported on  in 2010, this project can be tracked in Whats On Report, J123460.
