GATES OPEN FOR SCHOOL OF THE FUTURE

Amesbury School in Wellington’s Churton Park is now open, and it is most certainly a school with a difference. Planning for the $9 million development took months of trawling through studies on new education methods in order to find the perfect design. Not only is it covered in the latest gadgets for students of all ages to use, but its facilities are environmentally and learner friendly. Instead of a standard primary school classroom design, Amesbury decided to use modern open-space suites, water conducted under floor heating and even windows that automatically open when the rooms get too stuffy. Other features of the new school include library & resource room, administration block & hall, and two classroom blocks.
