Heading up Waru Street in Khandallah, one may be tempted to stop in awe of the fabulous views that stretch across the picturesque Wellington Harbour. As was the same thought for Designer Paul De Lisle at Inside Ltd, when crafting the lavish new two storey house which Whats On Report  recently got to visit.

Designed specifically for its location, the near million dollar house boasts a second floor surrounded by massive glass work creating a panoramic view of Wellington city and sea. Also key to the design is the unique angled timber roof, particularly intended to resist wind and earthquake load in Wellington. Concrete blocks have been used as walls and floors to absorb and resist the vertical load, these processes normally seen on commercial buildings rather than residential.

Construction started in October 2010, with Holmes Wellington Ltd, and is now 70% complete. Whats On Report has been tracking progress since 2009, and would like to say big thanks Paul Delisle at Inside Ltd for the site tour.
