CONTROVERSIAL BEGINNINGS FOR NEW MEDITATION PYRAMID

Horsham Downs in Hamilton may house the first meditation pyramid of its kind in New Zealand. The pyramid will be 15 meters high and include a 400-seat auditorium that will be fit for large conferences and group meditation. The project is currently under consideration with the Waikato District Council as it has been opposed by a number of Hamilton councillors, citing that it is a non-rural use of a rural area and may hinder the future development of a river crossing. Surrounding neighbours are also opposing the development claiming that increase in traffic flow and large gatherings will be disruptive. A formal decision is expected by June this year; follow the project with us at J138117.
