CONSENTS IN CROMWELL SOAR

Cromwell is proving to be a hotspot for construction according to building consents issued in recent years. From 2005 to 2010 the region received 70 consents valuing a total of $30.7 million, putting it well ahead of Alexandra and Clyde with 50 consents valued at $7.3 million. Otago Chamber of Commerce chief executive John Christie believes that the growth seen in Wanaka and Queenstown has expanded to Cromwell which is seen as desirable location to set up businesses and service the region.
