BUSY YEAR AHEAD FOR CDHB

The relocation of Christchurch Hospital’s Outpatients Unit from the Parkside West Building, to enable a multi-million dollar expansion of the Acute Medical Assessment Unit, is the first of many CDHB projects to get underway in 2012. The earthquake bill for the CDHB is expected to exceed $110 million, with some 7,500 rooms affected, and the focus for this year will be to tackle the short-term healthcare needs for the Canterbury Region while a long-term solution for Christchurch Hospital and other healthcare facilities are developed.
