BRIDGE WIDENING AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

Arthur Point’s McChesney bridge upgrade is expected to be completed a month ahead of schedule. Contractors Fulton Hogan are expected to finish the $1.4 million dollar project this June after starting December last year. The project involves making the one lane bridge, two lanes and straightening the tight bends on either side. The upgrades were designed to improve cyclist and motorist safety in what has become a hazardous area. See J127166 for details. The Whats On Report has lots of projects coming up for the Queenstown area, such as Gates of Haast New bridge (J122766).
