AUCKLAND OFFICE BLOCK TO GET RESIDENTIAL MAKEOVER

Construction of a conversion of a six-storey Auckland office block into an apartment complex is to get underway shortly. The block at 132 Vincent Street will be converted into 162 two and three bedroom units of 62sq m and 146sq m respectively. As the current occupants, Beca, begin their move to a new headquarters on Pitt Street, the developers of the apartment block Tawera Group have begun marketing apartments in the building, with prices from $620,000. Mike Mahoney of Tawera says there is difficulty building new inner-city apartment blocks, making conversions to residential often a more viable option. Follow progress on the Vincent Street Apartments at J139716.
