The Te Wero Bridge linking the viaduct harbor to Wynyard Quarter was blessed this week and is now officially open to the public. The 100 metre long cycle and pedestrian bridge will officially open at a ceremony on Saturday the 6th of August by Mayor Len Brown and Prime Minister John Key. The bridge is a double bascule opening bridge with three approach spans, a back span and a lifting section to let boats pass underneath. The bridge comes with state-of-art signals at each end to alert pedestrians when the bridge will be lifting.
