4 SEPTEMBER 2010: A YEAR ON

One year has passed since Christchurch felt its largest earthquake on record and the central business district remains a cordoned off area, but that has not deterred business from resuming in the Garden City. Many companies have now relocated to temporary or new locations in unaffected suburbs of the city, such as the Court Theatre (J132619). The theatre will use $4.6 million to fit out their new building in Addington, a former grain storage silo that has been aptly nicknamed ‘The Shed’. Christchurch residents will also be happy to hear the long-awaited return of the Twisted Hop Bar & Restaurant (J133101), which is relocating to a site in Woolston early 2012.
